ABOUT US

The West End Wolverines 18U recently made the jump from a 16U team and has been a travel ball club since Spring 2018.  We are based out of Glen Allen, VA, but have players from all over Central Virginia. The team is entering it's first season as an 18U team, and recently has undergone organizational changes to build upon the Varsity level talent that we have which is full of primarily '04 - '-02 players. We are actively seeking 2-3 additional players to add to our current roster and are using Fall 2019 season to actively find the right fit for our 2020 showcase team.  Fall 2019 will be utilized to identify and cultivate the right blend of players who exhibit work ethic, personal accountability, desire for development, family support and team-first attitude needed for sustainable success.  We coach by the mottoes that all ships rise with the tide, and we are only as strong as our weakest link, which places a holistic approach for coaching to the least of our players and tackling our team weaknesses until they become strengths. We are family-focused and ministry-minded organization that cares for each players' overall development and personal safety on and off the field.

It is for this reason that the organization will fully sponsor each player who is selected to play for the 2019 Fall season. The head coach, Ralph Saunders, has 15 years of competitive coaching for travel ball clubs, school ball, and rec in Arizona, Oklahoma, Texas, and now Virginia in multiple sports to include football, basketball, baseball, and softball. With a no quit attitude and a God-given gift to teach each player, the Wolverine way supports each player to perform better than they would in most other environments with a mindset of personal accountability, confidence through understanding, and willingness to focus on success instead of fearing failure. Coach Saunders' definition of a great player is "how quickly they learn from their mistakes", which allows players to understand that mistakes on the way to greatness is all part of the process.

We are focused on supporting each player to play their best for as long as they are able. Players are taught to be members of a team who can trust and be trusted to play their position to the best of their ability!  We celebrate successes, learn from defeats and setbacks, support each other's commitment to development, and push for progress, not perfection with every step we make as a unit. God bless you,
